Explore: disconnecting to connect

Updated: Oct 23

I decided to take a roadtrip where I can hear more natural soundscapes.

At home, I'd know photographers and videographers I can message to collaborate with, but here? I don't know anyone. My friend Alex suggested her friend, Patrick Camilien. She said,

"He's good people."

I trusted that.

I called him and the energy aligned.

Many logistical decisions later, we were off to a cabin in the woods to be immersed in nature for a few days, without ever having met each other. The cabin was in a secluded area where there weren't stores near by or cell service. Four days, three nights.

I needed Patrick to capture what we experienced.

Not only capture what we saw, but how we saw it. So that you can experience it too.

Can you see the circlar frequency? Squint your eyes to see how it expands.

I felt silly for walking with my big bulky winter jacket during Spring. I didn't have anything lighter that was reliable. I am so so so happy I did. It was so cold!!! In fact, a cave I wanted to visit was still frozen shut with ice.

I didn't have any particular plans mapped out. I guess I just wanted to be able to observe nature at any point of the day and explore as much as I can without hurdles.

We stocked up as there were no places close by.
